Na západe Čiech medzi Krušnými horami a Slavkovským lesom sú najväčšie, najnavštevovanejšie a najstaršie kúpaliská v Čechách - Karlovy Vary. Založil ich kráľ Karol IV pred 600 rokmi.

In western part of Czech republic, between mountain Krusne hory and Slavkov forest, there is the biggest, the most visited and the oldest spa in Czech republic. It was found by the king Karel IV, 600 years ago.

Z približne 100 prameňov rôznej výdatnosti je teplota 12 prameňov 42 °C až 72 °C, najznámejší prameň Vřídlo tryská viac ako 15 metrov. Liečia sa tu poruchy tráviaceho traktu (žalúdok, črevá) a poruchy látkovej výmeny.

We are talking about spa Karlovy Vary. There are approximately 100 springs with various spring - discharge. 12 of the springs have temperature from 42 °C to 72 °C, the most famous spring is called Vřídlo and it squirts up to 15 meters. They are curing gastrointestinal tract problems here (stomach, guts) and metabolism issues.

Pôvodne sa volal Václav, pri birmovke prijal meno Karol podľa svojho kmotra, francúzskeho kráľa Karola IV Pekného. Bol český a nemecký kráľ od roku 1346. Karol IV bol nesporne najväčším českým stredovekým panovníkom.

Originally his name was Vaclav, at the confirmation he received name Karel (it was after his godfather, French king Charles IV, Handsome). He was the king of Bohemia and Germany from 1346. Karel IV was undoubtedly the greatest Czech ruler during middle ages.

Karlove Vary vznikli v 2. polovici 14. stor.. Založil ich kráľ Karol IV. Veľký stavebný rozkvet zaznamenali o 200 rokov neskôr. Vo veľkej miere k tomu prispel fakt, že sa sem chodila liečiť bohatá šľachta. Najvýznamnejším karlovarský pacientom 18. storočia bol ruský cár Peter Veľký.

Karlove Vary was found in the 2nd half of 14th century. It was found by the king Karel IV. 200 years later, great building boom took place. It was caused by the fact, rich noblemen came here to cure themselves. The most esteemed patient in Karlove Vary was Russian tsar Peter the Great, it was in the 18th century.
